2nd Public Hearing In Blackwood, NJ

The Governor’s Education Funding Task Force will hold a second public hearing Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in Civic Hall on the Camden Community College Blackwood Campus in Blackwood, NJ.

All members of the public are welcome to attend.
The Education Funding Task Force was established by Executive Order of the Governor in March 2012 to examine those parts of the state’s School Funding Reform Act (SFRA) funding formula that may be susceptible to fraud or subject to outside manipulation in regard to participation in the federal Free and Reduced Price Lunch Program as a proxy for “at-risk” status and the municipal tax abatement programs.  The Executive Order may be found at http://nj.gov/infobank/circular/eocc89.pdf.

Hello, From The Petri Dish!

Do you tire of being the subject of an experiment?

What can we do other than continue to grow and multiply?

Go to the Doctor!

Take your children to the Doctor.

Fill your prescriptions as far ahead as the plan allows.

Get a physical for yourself and all covered children.

Make sure everyone gets a renewal prescription on glasses.

Make that trip to the Dentist that we all put off to the last minute.

Check those braces and retainers!

You have a limited amount of time to use your medical benefits.

Use them now so that you will have more of a safety net for, "What IF."

Update all things medical.

Make sure that you and your children are okay for the long haul, before you leave the plantation.

Attention Everyone:
Unemployment cannot force you to open your own business.
"Independent Contractors" own their own businesses.
How many of you got help from Delta T in filling out your 1099.

Another thing, worker's compensation is paid by your employer.
You are one or the other. You are either an employee or you are an "independent contractor"
This re-classification is something that is in dispute all the way up
to the federal level as something that may very well be a violation
of your civil rights as a worker.

Read this report and keep the contents in mind when you
search for another job and collect unemployment.

Petri dish (or Petri plate or cell culture dish) is a shallow glass or plastic cylindrical lidded dish that biologists use to culture cells or small moss plants.

Is EPSD Really Firing ALL of the African American Employees?

Rumor is they are trying to cut down on that

reported $23,000.00 a year per pupil cost by

firing the rest of the African

American employees in the district.

Hello out there!

Is there any truth to this rumor?

A lot of people are worried.

Oh, I forgot, that is your objective.

Calm down Englewood residents.

There is a process that must be followed

when letting people go.

Do not allow this board to

rally you

up in one of their made up

causes or hissy fits.

The fact remains that

they are the only

ones who can fix the mess

that they have made.

They also know how to fix it.

They want you warring with the state of New

Jersey and with the Teacher's Union.

I am not a big fan of the state, and I have a

bone to pick with the Teacher's union, but I

have been watching this little scenario

unravel.

Our Board is a run away train.

Did Dr. Carlisle really fire

Everyone and go off on a trip to the

Dominican Republic?

If there is any justice in

the world,

He has been fired.

The Real Per Pupil Cost!

Remember this post when people complain about how much money is spent to educate the children of Englewood. This might even answer the question of why there is never enough paper, books, or even curriculum. The Board agendas are loaded down with Staff Development Workshops. I would like to see the fruit of those work sessions. At least a product is created at the end of curriculum workshops.

Voters and taxpayers should pay careful attention to what is included in the per student cost when determining the actual amount spent to educate children in their districts. The formula recently changed. Every district's per pupil cost is changing. Does this mean that the per pupil cost for Englewood will now be $30,000.00 per pupil?

"Specifically, the Department added the following expenditures to arrive at the total spending number: transportation, special revenues, pension and benefits paid by the state, facilities (including debt service), equipment, total food services, judgments against the school district, and tuition/costs for students sent out of district (except payments to Charter schools). Consistent with the decision to include tuition for students sent out of district, the associated students are added to the enrollment denominator."

Do you follow that when folks sue the school board that amount is added into the cost per student? No one is factoring this into the equation here in Englewood. We have been sued and lost many a litigation in the past 2 years. Is everyone paying attention now?

Suggestion Box EPSD: Registration

Dr. Carlisle and Staff,

Please tell Englewood parents and parents new to Englewood where to register for school. They really do need to know.

Englewood Residents: Register your children for school year 2012 - 2013 at Grieco School.  ‎80 Durie Avenue across the street from Winton White Stadiium. The Registrar is a bit gruff. Do not allow her to deter you. Make sure you have all of your ID, several proofs of residence and the child's birth certificate, because they do not make it easy for you.

                            How are the children?
