Is Blended Learning Equal to Flushing Money?

The Englewood Board of Education and Superintendent have ignored "every single concern and/or suggestion made" by Parents/Guardians and Residents since his hiring.

In reference to this, it seems that we have a serious Attendance problem in this District and the High

was on hand for what?../
School in particular. When you notice the term "Blended Learning" it means that students are making up "seat hours" or at least this is what we have been told. All of this is supposedly about Attendance. Students are making up for absences from the school year in specific courses. They sit in a room with a computer and a Teacher (who may or may not be certified in the content area) who is paid $30 an hour to babysit. There have also been guidance personnel not certified in any content area serving as Teachers in "Blended Learning" sessions.

It is imagined that these students will graduate from high school sometime before September. We don't know for sure.

There has been a great deal of speculation about how many students out of 200 did not graduate. We have been given many conflicting numbers, none of which I believe. Numbers as high as 124 not graduating have been thrown out.

Okay, let us get back to the subject, which is Attendance. Read the State's Mandates from ESSA regarding student Attendance. Using "Blended Learning" in this fashion is contrary to State Law. We need an Attendance Officer. We have been begging for the "state mandated Attendance Officer position" for over 10 years. They look at us as if we are from Mars.

Consider the cost of the "Blended Learning" idea below.


July 19, 2018
1. "Blended Learning" instructors are ONCE again on the agenda. This time an additional 18 teachers are being approved for 200 hours! THAT'S $109,800!

FOR WHAT?!

*When you add up all of the "Summer Blended Learning" Instructor's payouts, the district will have spent OVER $200,000 IN TOTAL.

May 17th agenda -- 9 teachers at 120 hours = $32,940 (for work done July 9th to August 3rd)
June 14th agenda -- 17 teachers at 100 hours = $51,850 (for work done June 16th to June 30th)
June 14th agenda -- 2 teachers at 100 = $6,100 (for work done July 9th to August 3)
July 19th agenda -- 18 teachers at 200 hours = $109,800 (for work done August 6th to August 31st)

GRAND TOTAL: $200,690


This is the summer of "Blended Learning"! What are the outcomes of this? You could have allowed

for 4 of the 25 people that were let go for reasons of economy to come back and do their jobs. These people now have jobs in other Districts and we are left with no VPs in the high school. Good Teachers are resigning every meeting. Hmmmmmm!

3. With this amount of spending, the board is also allowing the Superintendent to hire all extra comp positions between board meetings! Lord only knows what other hires he is going to make that will allow him to secretly spend more of the tax payers money! Why did the Board approve this recommendation last night ?Another thing, why were the police in high alert last night? A uniformed and armed policeman was in attendance. He was also presumably paid with your tax dollars.

It should also be noted that there is included in EPSD POLICY already  permission for the Superintendent to make an EMERGENCY executive decision to hire personnel between Board Meetings. It is stipulated within the policy, that the Resolution for hiring SHALL appear on the very next meeting agenda. On July 19, 2018, our School Board gave the Superintendent permission to hire personnel between meetings when there is no apparent emergency. Why would he need to do that?

The Salary of the "State Mandated Attendance Officer" is less than half the cost of "Blended Learning" expenses.

My question is this:

Is all of this a lie? 
What is the REAL PURPOSE of "Blended Learning"?

"Claiming a Future For Our Children"

Betty is seeking re-election to the Englewood Board of Education. She has been a resident of Englewood over 40 years. 
She earned a BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Sociology from South Carolina State University. Betty worked for the State of New Jersey for over 30 years. 
While employed with the Division of Family Development she administered the Food Stamp Program (SNAP) and supervised Child Care Centers across the state.
As part of the board , she has served on the following committees:
Year one (2015) Academic Affairs and the Ad Hoc Negotiations

Year two (2016) Chairperson of the Personnel Committee and Community Outreach .
Year three (2017) Academic Affairs

In May 2017, Betty was awarded the Certified New Board Members certificate for her completion of the requirements for Level One of the Board Members Academy Program.
The goals she has for the district are:
Complete the implementation of the reading program in the primary and elementary schools.
Continue to improve transparency between parents,students and the administration of the district through community meetings.
Update policies to assure the changes made are captures and understood by parents, students and administration
.
She currently serves as a member of the Englewood Recreational Advisory Committee. 
Betty is a tutor in the community and volunteers. She is the proud mother of two sons, Sebron and Samuel.

Why Are our Children forced to Vet their Own Teachers?

A parent called me today with some very real concerns about an incident with his child. It seems, a Geometry teacher, Miguel Tactuk employed in the Englewood Public School District was removed from the building today, October 13, 2017.  This teacher was allegedly verbally abusive with a group of female students. One young lady was insulted that he was speaking to them in ways that she had never heard from a teacher. She decided to google  him. What she found will shock you. 


It seems that this teacher has a history of being verbally abusive to female students.  He had in fact gotten into trouble in New York for sexually harassing a 12 year old female student when he taught    7th grade there. At the very least, this Geometry teacher was removed from the building.


What has our School System come to when the children must police their own teachers? We were assured that our new Human Relations Manager with her law degree was a top notch person for the job. How did she miss this? The former Human Relations Manager did not have the credentials to do the job, yet was kept in the position for many years. 


Why are employees not being vetted more closely now? Is this the reason so many teachers have been found teaching outside of their certifications? In light of recent developments one would think that every new hire would be vetted more closely. Who is watching the store?

It appears that the employees who have tenure charges against them are not the problem. The current system which is still status quo is. The new HR Director is part of the Corrective Action Plan. Perhaps the "exhaustive certification audit" should be expanded to include issues such as this.

Unfortunately teachers in Englewood and other school districts around the state and the country sometimes run afoul of what is right and good. They forget that children are people too.

The Phantom Candidate

Save the date: The League of Women Voters' School Board Candidates Night- Tuesday, October 24th at 7:30 pm, Public Safety Building, 73 South Van Brunt Street.

We started this School Board Election season with a record number of 10 Candidates vying for 3 seats on the Englewood Board of Education. Candidates in the 9th and 10th columns dropped out of the race prior to September 6. Their names will not be on the ballot. We now have 8 candidates competing for those same 3 seats. 4 of those candidates are still a mystery to "we the people". The 4 candidates here are off and running.

April 2012 School Board Elections were a bit odd with unexplained events throughout. 2 Candidates ran who did absolutely nothing to win. They simply put their names on the ballot and became Spoilers.

One, we know. His name is David Popkin. Mr. Popkin was one of a few people who attended every school board meeting and challenged anything mathematical. He and I were once the only 2 residents who waited out a Board meeting that lasted until 2:00 am in the morning. He was a Math teacher in his early years and has lived in Englewood a very long time. He is known to keep the Board on its toes about many issues including accepting gifts from vendors. He was his very own Board Watch for many years. 2012 was not the first time that Mr. Popkin had run for the Board. He told me that he never campaigns and never signs petitions.

When asked why he runs, he said that he just wanted to make it interesting.  I didn't try to understand, for fear of a math problem that I would never be able to comprehend. Mr. Popkin got over 200 votes without doing anything other than putting his name on the ballot.

The 2nd candidate was literally a "Phantom". We never saw her. No one knew who she was. We thought she did not exist. We searched the registered voter list to make sure that she was a real person.

She is a real person. Her name is Jennifer Kim. She never revealed herself throughout the campaign. She did not attend any of the debates or "meet the candidate" events. On Election night, the Asian news media was there with cameras waiting alongside us for the outcome of the election. I assume they wanted to see her also. She never showed. We call her the "Phantom Candidate".  She got votes from every single ward and district in the City. Jennifer Kim earned 233 votes. She did even less than Mr. Popkin. She and Mr. Popkin simply took nearly 500 votes from other candidates who may have done better had the Spoilers not participated. One will never know whom they were both set on derailing.

Last night a friend and I went over the voting patterns in Englewood School Board Elections for the last 6 years. It came to me that we have not seen or heard anything from 4 of the 8 Candidates. We have no photographs of them. School Board is very personal and somehow closer to the people than other elected officials. They make decisions that are closer to our hearts. They have the power to change the futures of our children. Yes, they do.

We have not heard from 4 of the 8 Candidates. Matthew Garrison, we have seen in and around town as a child and a teenager. He did not attend Dwight Morrow High School. Most of us have not seen nor heard from Matthew since he went off to college. Did Matthew really want to be on the Board of Education? Did he personally carry a petition and get signatures? One wonders....

And who is Brent Watson? He has attended 2 of the same Board meetings and has a face.  He holds the #1 Column on the ballot and may join the ranks of those elected simply because of that. Voters, please read the names and attend the events scheduled to give you a chance to meet and question the candidates.

Did Michelle Marom and Dalia Lerner really want to throw their hats into that ring of fire? Who knows? Perhaps the 3 of them will show up at the League of Women Voters "Meet the Candidates event scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 7:30 pm, Public Safety Building, 73 South Van Brunt Street.

My name is William Feinstein and I am a candidate for the Englewood Board of Education. I was raised in Englewood and attended the Englewood Public Schools from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. After graduating from Dwight Morrow High School, I attended Johnson & Wales University, where I obtained my BA in Hospitality Management. 


I am currently the Director of Human Resources with a boutique hotel company in New York City. I have previously served on city boards and committees, including the Englewood Rent Leveling Board, The Englewood Board of Adjustment and the 1999 Englewood Centennial Committee.


Why am I running for the Englewood Board of Education? 
I am very passionate and committed 
to the success of the Englewood Public Schools. I was fortunate to receive a great education that prepared me for the world outside of Englewood and I want every child today to receive that same great education and experience. As a community we have a responsibility, to ensure that each child is given that same opportunity from day one. We must put a very strong emphasis on early education. When a child falls behind in the early grades, it becomes extremely difficult, if not sometimes impossible, for that child to catch up. 

That is unacceptable.

As a School Board Member, I will take my responsibilities very seriously. I understand that my role is not to be involved in the day to day operations of the district, but to work collaboratively with the administration and other board members to develop policies that support the district goals and follow the law. Our goals must be focused on one objective: to offer the best education possible to every child.
We must get our house in order so that we can attract the most qualified and experienced individuals for the district at all levels. We need to start thinking outside of the box and become more creative to increase parent and community involvement. Regular “listening sessions” where the board, administration and community can come together to have a real dialogue and discussion would be a great start. We also need to reach out to successful school districts and share best practices.

A strong successful school system benefits our entire community. We need all stakeholders to participate, parents, teachers, administrators and residents. I am an independent thinker that has only one special interest, the Children.

Shall We Talk?

I am Dr. Dierdre Glenn Paul. I am full professor at Montclair State University where I have worked for 24 years. I am a teacher educator, a published author of 4 books and multiple journal articles; and a former New York City Public School Teacher. I am result-oriented, as well. I am a divorced, single mom who raised 2 adult children alone. I am a daughter, a breast cancer survivor, a homeowner, an active member of St. Cecilia's, an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority Inc., and a tough and resourceful African American woman.
 Most importantly, I am someone who cares deeply about education and children. I understand that, regardless of race, ethnicity or the amount of money you have, there's one thing that binds all parents/caregivers. We all love our children and want to see them do better in life than we have. 

As a member of the School Board, I will be available to you to talk about any school related concern you might have or meet with any group that is focused on improving the quality of education Englewood students receive. You will be heard. And I will be responsive to your needs. In those instances where we disagree, I will be honest with you...sooner rather than later.

 We all know that quality preschool and early literacy instruction set children on the path to academic success. In fact, they are the great equalizers. Even when the conditions for academic success aren't present in children's homes, quality preschool and early literacy instruction give them the boost needed to keep up with their classmates. So I will fight to make our recently approved preschool expansion work.

I have also spoken to several parents of children with special needs. In most instances, they are unhappy about the services their children are receiving. That's the reason I will be focused on making sure this this group of the most vulnerable students receive the accommodations that are legally required and will lead to successful learning opportunities for them.

Lastly, a failing school system is costly to taxpayers. It is common knowledge that a high-quality school system draws new residents to a town or city. Conversely, a failing school system does the opposite. Until we get our schools working effectively, downtown Englewood will continue to bleed ratables and young families will continue to flock to other towns with better school systems. As a result, there will be more reductions in direct school aid.
The success or continued failure of our public schools impacts everyone and needs all of us working together. Thank you for your time.

Communicate With Your Child's Teacher!

Installment 2: Start the School Year Off Right! 
Effectively Communicate with Your Child’s Teacher…
We’re now almost a full month into the school year, so this week’s installment is designed to help you effectively communicate with your child’s teachers and set a positive tone for the new academic year. Keep in mind that regular communications with the teacher benefit your child and ensure that her/his learning needs are central in the teacher’s mind.

If elected, I want to introduce new traditions and practices like this regular information sheet to enhance your child’s education through the Englewood Public School District. I would also like to host parent forums and workshops to be held twice during each school year (Thank you for this fantastic suggestion, Omar) and an annual Read Out Englewood Literacy Fair to encourage students’ literacy growth.

Most importantly, I will never forget that my primary role as a duly elected Board of Education member is to serve and assist you in providing your child with a high-quality, excellent public school education. And now onto the tips for enhancing communication with your child’s teacher.

Arrange a time to visit your child’s classroom and meet with her or his teacher, as soon as possible. The sole purpose of this meeting is to introduce yourself and clearly present your expectations regarding regular communication, academic progress and any important information that could impact your child’s educational success. 

For example:
  • How frequently would you like updates on your child’s progress in class? 
  • Is it best to call or email you, if there is a problem? 
  • When is the best time to contact you? 
  • Would you like to be notified when the child is in danger of failing a class/subject or would you like to know about the lack of progress early enough to intervene? 
  • Does your child have a 504 or IEP? 
  • Does your child have a food allergy, epilepsy or another medical condition that requires the teacher to follow a certain protocol?
Send notes, emails and call, if you’re unable to meet with your child’s teacher and explain the reason a visit is inconvenient at this time. But, make certain that your child’s teacher knows that you are a concerned parent/caregiver who will be actively involved in your child’s education. Also, suggest times to meet that work for you and see whether the teacher can accommodate your schedule. 

Volunteer in your child’s classroom or at the school, when available. If the teacher sees you on a regular basis and knows that you have a presence in the school, she/he also knows that establishing a positive relationship with you is necessary. 

Lastly, check your child’s notebook and homework routinely. Then, you can give the teacher real-time information about your child’s trouble understanding a concept or practice.

Know Your Child’s Educational Rights in the Englewood Public Schools

What is the difference between an IEP and a 504?
Navigating the education system can be challenging for all parents, but it is even more so for parents/caregivers of children with special needs. 

One of my campaign promises is to make the process easier for you by providing regular informational pieces, tips, and links. 

I will never forget that my primary role as a duly elected Board of Education member is to serve and assist you in providing your child with a high-quality, excellent public school education in the Englewood Public School District.

An IEP (Individualized Educational Plan) is, generally, for those students who have been evaluated by the Child Study Team and classified. 504s are usually provided for students who have not undergone the evaluation process but still struggle (academically) in school.




Parents of children with both, IEPs and 504s, must consent to their children’s educational evaluation by the school district. 

A student with an IEP can receive an independent educational evaluation by an outside expert of your choice, paid for by the district and at no cost to you, the parent. Further, the district doesn’t have to agree to pay beforehand.

If a significant change is made to either, your child’s IEP or 504, you are entitled to written notice prior to the enactment of the change.


IEPs must be evaluated each year and the student must be reevaluated every three (3) years. While it isn’t mandated that a 504 be evaluated each year, it is a commonly held expectation that they should follow the same pattern of evaluation set for IEPs. Thus, parents should expect that 504s are annually evaluated and the student is reevaluated every 3 years.

Politicians, Stop Throwing Our Children Under The Bus

This is what happens when politicians interfere in the workings of the Public Schools. You know who you are. Politicians and those who keep you in office, who have been meddling with no experience in education or know how since the sixties, should stand down. The downturn in the District came with you. So stop it.
It is time to let the professionals do the jobs they were hired to do. Those of us who have been watching since the late 1960s know that you have high expectations for some and NO EXPECTATIONS for others. The un-certified staff and all the rest fall on your shoulders. You Politicians created the GAP that has made a focus school of our high school. Your "Outsource" tactics have added to the crippling of the District.
Have a retreat. Give the Superintendent some viable goals and objectives for the School District, making student achievement of all students priority. Stop stacking the deck like the Trumpish Mayor has done with the Democratic Municipal Committee. Leave the Superintendent alone and let him succeed or fail. Stop being Trumpish Huttles, both of you. If he does not achieve the goals, then let him go. Your con man minion should stand down in his attempts to run the District. In the last 15 years, he and his buds have run it into the ground. You know it. We know it.
This is also what happens when School Board Members operate as an employment agency for friends and relatives. When School Board Members have been in control for nearly 15 years and run the schools, the blame rests on them and the ones who put them in place and keep them there. They and you are the ones responsible. It is all part of the dumbing down of the District. Our children can learn, but it seems that you can't.
When few have faith that ALL children can learn, strange and sometimes illegal shit goes on to make the District look good. Englewood is suffering from a serious identity crisis. (Teach the children in front of you and stop favoring the ones you import into our failing school system.) This is embarrassing in so many ways. It is also infuriating, because the real culprits are sitting pretty without a single blemish. The Board of Education is not innocent in this. They and the Politicians who pretend they take no part and are autonomous are the Custodians of failure. How many of their children are sitting in Saturday classes? Supporters of the Board leaders are not innocent in this. You know who you are and it is time to back the F off of our Public School district. Any child who has not done what is required should be retained. Any child... Any adult responsible should be dismissed. It is as simple as that ...
And how are the children?.....The headline says it........Stop throwing our children under the bus!

Are Public Schools Across the US in Crisis?



House Bill 610 has been introduced.
This bill will effectively start the school voucher system to be used by children grades K-12 and starts the defunding process of public schools.

In addition the bill will eliminate the Elementary and Education Act of 1965, which is the nation's educational law and provides equal opportunity in education.

ESSA is a comprehensive program that covers programs for struggling learners,

AP classes,

ESL classes,

classes for minorities such as Native Americans,

Rural Education,

Education for the Homeless,

School Safety (Gun-Free schools),

Monitoring and Compliance and Federal Accountability Programs.

The Bill also abolishes the Nutritional Act of 2012 (No Hungry Kids Act) which provides nutritional standards in school breakfast and lunch. For our most vulnerable, this may be the ONLY nutritious food they have in a day.

The bill has no wording whatsoever protecting special needs kids, no mention of IDEA and FAPE.

Some things ESSA does for Children with Disabilities
-Ensures access to the general education curriculum.
-Ensures access to accommodations on assessments.
-Ensures concepts of Universal Design for Learning
-Includes provisions that require local education agencies to provide evidence-based
interventions in schools with consistently underperforming subgroups.
-Requires states in Title I plans to address how they will improve conditions for learning, including reducing incidents of bullying and harassment in schools, overuse of discipline practices and reduce the use of adverse behavioral interventions (such as restraints and seclusion).

Please call your representative and ask him/her to vote NO on House Bill 610 (HR 610) introduced by three Republican reps.

Good evening, I would like to thank the League of Women Voters for hosting this debate and for all of you for coming out tonight.

William (Bill) Feinstein 

I was raised in Englewood and proud alumni of the Englewood Public Schools.  I am running for the Englewood School Board so that we may continue the positive direction that our district has been moving and to ensure EVERY child is receiving the BEST well rounded education possible.

Over the last year the district has introduced a number of positive initiatives. 
  • The implementation of new technology, including Genesis which provides direct access for parents and students to get up to date educational data including homework assignments, lesson plans and grades. 
  • The district has established Partnerships with local colleges & universities giving our students the opportunity to earn up to 30 college credits by the time they graduate Dwight Morrow High School. 
  • The curriculum has been revamped, providing consistency and a smooth transition from one grade to the other and the soon to be introduced APP called the Footsteps2brillance that will be available early next year and free for every city resident to help parents give their children a head start before even entering school.
  • There have also been policies implemented to provide more checks and balances related to financial controls, resulting in over a million dollars in savings to the district. 
  • Test scores have always been and must continue to be a focus.  During last month’s Board of Education meeting the superintendent presented the results of the 2015-2016 PARCC. While the scores are still not where they need to be, the district is showing positive signs with year over year improvement.   We must continue to evaluate our current programs to ensure each is providing the required and necessary results.  
As a board member and policy maker my number one priority will be to ensure we are Providing EVERY child with the BEST education to prepare them for success.    
While doing that, we must also balance the interests of all stakeholders including, Our Students & Parents, our Teachers & Administrators and The Englewood Taxpayer.  I look forward to your questions and to discuss the future of the Englewood Public Schools.

All Mothers Matter, But All Mothers Do Not Know Best!



All Mothers Matter,
but
All Mothers do not always know best......
Did you forget that you pushed for Outsourcing?

Did you conveniently forget that over 109 people lost
their jobs, 32 of whom had promises of employment signed
by the Superintendent and the Board of Education?
Did you even check the addresses of houses where
you left off your blue and white signs paid for by the same
people who financed "Outsourcing"?
Does it bother you at all that you are leaving signs in the yards
of people that you got fired?

You are asking the same families that your actions tore apart to put "you" on the Board of Education.
At least 2 of the "Mothers who know best" worked very hard getting the Secretaries and Paraprofessionals fired.
I was told to my face that, "the secretaries and Paraprofessionals are a group of unmarried women with children who have the nerve to be in a Union." That quote was uttered by one of your sponsors.
I was right there watching you with my camera and videotape.

Englewood Residents. how much more "Outsourcing" can this District swallow?

Can You Stand the Rain?

Word on the street is that the Dwight Morrow High School Alumni Association will not be seated on the stage at today's DMHS Graduation.

Valerie Huttle once told me that the DMHS Alumni were the ones who destroyed the Academies@Englewood. By the way, seems to me the Academy is alive and well. We can't say that much for the rest of the School District. Is that State Takeover over yonder on the horizon? I have been told that there is profit in failure.

At the time, she did not know that I am a DMHS Graduate, or did she?

Today, I have this question.

We are subcontracting the writing of Curriculum grades 1-12 to one woman who uses unknown subcontractors from who knows where? What ever happened to hiring a company with a proven track record? 

A teacher recently challenged my loyalty to teachers by accusing me of not being pro - teacher. I am a dues paying member of the same union as he and resent the implication. The only difference is that I do not work in a paid position for this District. My allegiance is to the students.

I am pro student...

You can't get anymore pro teacher than that. This person would do better to question this Michelle Rhee admirer who is being trusted to cut and paste curriculum into a template she created for an entire School District. Seems to me EPSD teachers are able to do that themselves. If Curriculum can be subcontracted all over East Jabit, why can't it be subcontracted out to the folks who have skin in the game by someone who has a proven record in doing such. This type of company does exist. One such led a group of teachers in the process when I was in the classroom. It was a rewarding experience. 

Teachers, Administrators and others who care. This is a sad comment on the ability of the paid employees in the EPSD. All of you should be just as angry as I am instead of accusing me of not standing with you.

A few years ago, I read curriculum cut and pasted from various sources by the then Director of Curriculum & Instruction. I gave him a failing grade. This woman gets a D, based on her website where I could find no examples. I assume that there are boiler plates that the many subcontractors or vendors will use to create curriculum for you. 

One of our Board Members recently referred to a prospective graduation speaker as "scraping the bottom of the barrel". Although I understood why, I thought it a bit crude. Now I want to say the same about this choice of Curriculum writer or mapper.

Last night, I spent some time watching video footage from the days when Carlisle was hiring more teachers than we had classrooms. I marveled again how Stephen Brown sat quietly with his knee bobbing up and down under the table in disapproval, but he let it ride. He knew what was coming. A few months later we  were in a supposed economic crisis and "had to abolish Secretaries and Paraprofessionals" - that lead to the firing of over 100 people.  At least 32 of these employees had "promises of employment signed by EPSD". Stephen and his cohorts are doing the same thing now. There are Personnel items on the recent agenda that should have sent Board members through the roof. 

Are we going back to the future?

In 2011, when Carlisle arrived, we had surplus on top of surplus. We have surplus on top of surplus now.

I don't know about you, but I'd like to get ahead of another crisis like the one this town had to endure during the entire year of 2012.

What has she done with her time? Did she teach? Was she an Administrator somewhere? I would like to see her Curriculum vitae.

Where are the Testimonials from the satisfied School Districts?
Who are her team of Consultants/Educators? What are some of the names and where do they work? Name the members of this TEAM.
Seems to me, she works out of her home in Washington NJ.

Our new Superintendent does not hesitate to point out the fact that one or more of EPSD programs are not used by any of the Districts that work. So why are we using one of those Companies right now to write the Curriculum for our entire school district? Where are the Testimonials for Standards Solutions from Districts that work? Her Linkedin profile identifies Michelle Rhee as one of her influencers.  Picture that. Michelle Rhee is pro Teach For America and dead set against unions. This does not bode well for us....
