George Garrison III and Mark DeMontagnac failed to register for the state required "criminal background checks" as required by New Jersey State Law.Criminal history report checks have been in effect for school employees for some time. This new law requires that school board members also submit to the same background checks. This writer totally agrees with the new law. It may help to alleviate some of the problems plaguing our troubled Public Schools.

Get to know your School Board. Elections are not far off. Review the campaign promises of each sitting board member. Have they delivered on the promises? Have they made student achievement the highest priority in the district?
